HELLO HEMINGWAY

Larita, Ernest Hemingway´s neighbour in Havana in 1956, is a young and poor girl trying to finish High School to continue her studies at the University. Just by chance she begins to read "The Old man and the Sea" and as she reads she makes a parallel between the history of Santiago, the old fisherman, and her own life. The film is permeated with the soul of Hemingway´s works in the most universal sense: in his struggle to achieve dreams that are beyond his possibilities, the human being can be destroyed but never overcomed.
