Livia Margarita Carreño García (City of Havana, Cuba, 1963)
Textile artist. Autodidact.
Livia took part in several personal exhibitions in Cuba, Europe, the United States and in Quebec (Gatineau). Her artwork, completely handmade, is the result of a combination of various techniques: painting on fabrics, batik, embroidery and appliquéd ornament. Her poetry sails through this demonstration of art apparently naive, which is expressed in a very singular style, always marked by “the marvellous real-life of the Latin-American culture”.
